FillSmart ("the app") is developed by Mat Morris ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it's handled. FillSmart does not require an account and does not knowingly collect information that identifies you personally.
Location. With your permission, FillSmart uses your device's location to find fuel stations near you. Your coordinates are sent to our backend for the sole purpose of returning nearby station and price results, and are not stored against any user profile or identifier — there is no account for them to be linked to. If you deny location access, you can enter a postcode instead, which is used the same way.
Fuel preferences. Your fuel type, tank size, and MPG (entered during onboarding) are stored locally on your device only. They are used to calculate savings estimates and are not transmitted to us or any third party as part of a personal profile.
Purchases. FillSmart Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your card information. Apple shares only the purchase status (active/inactive) with the app so it can unlock Pro features.
Diagnostics. If you've opted in to share analytics under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymised crash and performance data with us via Xcode / App Store Connect. This is controlled entirely by your device settings and governed by Apple's own privacy policy — FillSmart does not include any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Apple — for In-App Purchases and optional diagnostics, per Apple's privacy policy.
Cloudflare — our backend infrastructure provider (Workers, D1 database). Location queries pass through Cloudflare's network to return results; Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as our infrastructure provider and does not use it for its own purposes.
UK fuel price data source — our backend fetches public fuel station and price data from an official UK government data feed. This is one-directional (we pull public station data); your location is never sent to this source.
Location queries are used transiently to return results and are not retained in identifiable form. On-device preferences remain on your device until you delete the app or clear its data.
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if we introduce accounts, price alerts, or analytics in future versions). Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
